There is a monotony about this first paragraph which should not distract from his achievements, Titouan again pulled it out of the hat this week by not only winning at Hog Hill this week but with a decent margin as well. That he did an extra unnecessary lap is just showing off, Chapeau mon amie.
Although the results are yet to be published, Max is consistently achieving 3rds and 4ths all season at Palace, it hasn’t gone unnoticed, well done, keep it up.
Finally on the congratulatory drivel, Amelia rode a phenomenal section from Keston to Annerley on the road ride last Saturday, just shows what grim determination can achieve.
Saturday 20th - All day MTB adventure to Leith Hill
We will be leading an all day MTB ride this coming Saturday, starting at the velodrome at 9 we’ll follow a predominantly off road route towards Leith Hill (just South West of Dorking) and once in the environs will play on as many the trails as weather/enthusiasm permits before heading off to Dorking to catch a train back to Clapham Junction and then ride back to the velodrome together. ETA the velodrome 6 pm.
Expected riding distance will be approx 50/60 miles which is a lot for MTB, hence is only suitable for Juniors and above and those youths who ride with us regularly. (you know who you are)
It is important that you heed the following:
BC & HHYCC/DP membership, wearing helmets, money for the train fare back & lunch, a full water bottle and some snacks are mandatory.
Riders should note that riding at this level and at your age, it’s your responsibility to ensure your bike is in good working order, not your father’s or your father’s work colleagues…………….so please carefully check your bike over, bring a multitool, spare inner tube and a small pump.
Bear in mind the distance to be covered and the weather. Do not bring endless unnecessary suitcases or portmanteau, this is a day out in summer, everything you need should fit into your back pockets and/or saddle pouch, excess baggage will be not be allowed - think Ryan Air.
Parents Consent forms for under 18’s - as this is an extraordinary ride please ensure you get the attached parents consent form completed and you bring it along with you on Saturday Morning.
Parents/Guardians and Carers are welcome to join the ride, however should this concept not appeal, you need to contactable and available to collect your charge should the need arise or be able to collect your charge from Clapham Junction Railway Station should he/she be despatched early.
Next week………again loads of stuff, and as season of exams finally pass into history I look forward to seeing a few old faces start to infest Strava again.
