Pretty active week from you lot, Oliver reaping the bitter sweet rewards of the new 3rd cat rider, racing for the first time in a E123 Crit at Goodwood, Joe thrashed around Palace until bedevilled by dodgy seat post, Will getting back in to Time Trial form in the Velopark 10, 8 laps within seconds of each other followed by 2 laps 5 seconds faster. Titouan continued his run with another first at Beastway, not only did he demolish the riders in his category, he spent the race nipping at the heels of the leading seniors earning their respect. As a measure of his pace he absolutely trounced me, and I came 13th overall and 3rd OAP. (And yes there were more than 13 in the combined senior/open/sport/vet and grand vet race)
Saturday 27th Grand Tour of the Cols of South London.
This week Dave will be leading a ride joining The Grand Dulwich Paragon Tour of the Cols of Crystal Palace. In essence this ride will explore every known legal way to climb Sydenham Hill on a bike, you’ll ride the obvious and the less ridden routes up this wretched hill. A grand preparation for the mercifully short hill climb season, with the advantage that you’re never more than a mile away from Café Paradou. Ride is suitable for all the regular mob and any one aged 14 or over who wants to give it go.
Normal rules and pack drill, helmets mandatory, bring drink, unless this is your first ride with us BC and HHYCC or DP membership required, remember inner tubes and the telephone number of your parent/guardian preferably on a piece of paper in your back pocket. Those new to riding with us need to bring along a completed Parent’s consent form. (Download from the DP forum>youth tab. www.dulwich paragon.com)
Meet at the velodrome by 9 and the ride will finish (unsurprisingly) at Café Paradou on the top of Crystal Palace around 12.30.
Parents and Guardians must be contactable and able to rescue their charge should the need arise.
Sunday 28th Southern XC Porridge Pot Hill MTB
