New discipline, another fine result, well done to Hayden, Joe Mulligan and Max for finishing in that order in the opening Youth race of the Summer Cross series. Bravo to the three of you.
Dulwich Paragon Footpath Hill Climb Saturday 25th July.
You all deserve a lie in this Saturday, so relax we’ll not be leading the usual Saturday ride, however strongly urge you a compete on any imaginable bike in the Dulwich Grand Footpath Hill Climb. (I feel an outing for HHYCC’s famously reasonably priced bike is in the offering)
Categories include the sensible - MTB to the ridiculous via road bikes. You can compete as many time as you like on different bikes and there are prizes galore. Starts at 2pm opposite Sydenham Hill Railway Station. The event is open only to members of Dulwich Paragon and Herne Hill Youth.
Cos I’m also the Cyclo Cross/MTB Sec for Dulwich, I’m particularly keen that the knobbly tyre categories are over subscribed………………I’m relying on you MTB racers.
NB IMPORTANT - as the Hill Climb is technically a Time Trial you need to bring along a completed TT Parents Consent form
(there is one to download on the thread further down in the youth section)
TORK in your Sleep - MTB 12 hour Team Enduro
Dave and I are especially keen to enter one or teams to this highlight in the MTB calendar held on the 30th August. Full details on the Gorrick website, event is open to those 16 plus. If you want to try a decent challenge let either myself or Dave know as soon as, we need to enter teams well in advance.
Cross training rides
We will be heading back to Mitcham from mid August to hone those Cross skills. Those of you spent the summer on the road don’t discard Cross as a way of keeping some base fitness over the winter. If you want to give it a bash but don’t have a bike, let me know and I’ll try and arrange for you to borrow a BC bike.
