As far as I know, all quiet on the racing front - so little to report.
Saturday 22nd August - Cross Training Ride.
Meet at the velodrome at 9 am for the first in a series of Cyclo Cross training rides, these sessions are based on skill training rather than endurance (cos you all have plenty of that). Over the next few weeks we'll be visiting Mitcham Common, South Norwood Country Park, Bethlem and further afield as the need arises.
The aim of the sessions is to give you confidence to ride to your fullest in the forthcoming Cyclo Cross season.
Admittedly a Cross bike is preferred you can do these sessions with any bike capable of going off road - ie MTB or touring bike.
We’ll be back at Cafe Paradou close to 12.30.
Part of the rides will be on roads, so normal rules and pack drill:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
and if it’s your first ride with us a signed parental consent form.
DP World Champs 6th September
Mud folk - reserve the weekend of the 6th September, we’re running a special Cross Race in the Dulwich World Champs at Hog Hill on the Saturday and you’ll have the choice of either the first of the London Cross League races at Stamer Park Brighton or a Mud Sweat and Gears MTB race at Penshurst…...choices choices.
Next week………(not a lot happening)
