If would be fair to say that last you lot dominated the upper echelons of the results for Youth categories of last week’s London Cross League, Oliver (7th), Luke (8th), Joe the younger (3rd), Eddie (5th) topped off of course with Titouan in 1st ……..Max rode strongly until his bike fell apart, another time Max another time.
Great course to ride, flowing with some muddy surprises on a fine Sunny autumnal day, need more of these..
Saturday 26th – Cross Training Ride
Following the set Autumnal pattern this week we’ll be running a Cross training ride, leaving the velodrome at 9 am , we’ll head out towards Addington for some trail riding and cornering adventures.
Meet at the velodrome at 8.50 the ride will be back at Cafe Paradou approx 12.30.
Part of the ride will be on roads, so normal rules and pack drill:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
and if it’s your first ride with us a signed parental consent form.
Cyclo Cross London League Rd 3 - Sunday 27th possibly at Bethlem
There’s only one thing certain about this race - it will not be at Addington Park as advertised as Nelly the Elephant and her Circus friends have got there first. Keep an eye on the London Cyclo Cross Website for details.
however:
Mud Sweat and Gears - MTB at Hadleigh Farm - Sunday 27th , another round at the Olympic site, if its as well run as the event earlier in the year, expect a tough but interesting course. I understand that youth categories as sold out, so check the website before setting off.
Next Saturday afternoon 3rd November - Course setting at Herne Hill
HHYCC are hosting Rd 4 of the London League at Herne Hill, and we’ll be setting the course on Saturday afternoon after the planned road ride in the morning. All help is appreciated, both on Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday 4th November Cyclo Cross at Herne Hill
This is the opportunity for anyone who wants to try a cross race to do so, if you haven’t a bike and want to borrow one PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY WEDNESDAY and I’ll arrange for the BC bikes to be available to you.
Winter Mid Week Training Sessions
There will be 2 evenings of road bike training on the track at Herne Hill. It is absolutely vital that any rider that wants to race successfully in any discipline next year make every effort to attend these sessions on a regular basis throughout the winter.
Dulwich Paragon Chain Gangs on the track - Wednesday Evenings starting 7th Oct, these sessions are suitable for strong youth riders, Juniors and Espoires, and will be coached/lead by myself, Steve Sorba and Paul Mills. Start at 7 pm and you’ll be through by 9pm. These sessions are open only to DP and HHYCC members.
British Cycling Cluster Sessions - Thursday evenings starting 8th Oct- Run by Jason Catemole aided by other coaches from various clubs, open to youth and Junior riders. These sessions will start at 7 pm and run through to 9, there will be a nominal fee per session.
