Clifford has been silent this week - rare event, so I assume no one was racing last week, however despite the miserably cold weather it is now late Spring (tell my bees that, the idle so and so’s) and the racing and honey making seasons starts in earnest this week.
Saturday 30th April - Junior Road Racing
Youth Ride - There will be no Youth ride this week, you are all encouraged to either join the 11 o’clock at Herne Hill or join the Juniors racing at Hog Hill (please check for race start times www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/139127/ECCA-Festival-Youth-Races )
I don’t recommend that youth riders ride to Hog Hill.
Juniors - Racing at Hog Hill
We recommend the follow prepare themselves to compete in these races:
Under 16’s - 1 hour race starts at 11.45 - ideal for Luke, Titouan, Ed, and Max
4th cat Go Race - (looks like a 30 minute race) starts at 14.30 - suitable for Will and Pat
3/4th Cat - 1 hour plus 5 laps - starts at 15.15 - good for Joe if he manages to get his bike sorted.

Youths
Seniors
Check’em out. Although none of you have been entered in advance the organisers are aware we are bringing a mob up from down Sarf and have reassured me that places are available. Dulwich will be fronting the race fees for those racing in club colours.
Dave will be at the Velodrome at 8.45 - ready to lead a gentle ride up to Hog Hill at 9 am sharp. Please let us know if you are planning to ride up. He’ll also assist you in locking off gears etc to comply with gear regs.
For those not racing I will be leading a RA ride on Saturday morning following the DP route - meet at 9 am at the velodrome.
Rides and races will be on the road or part on road so normal pack drill:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes that fit your bike
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
The name and telephone number of an adult who can rescue you on a PIECE OF PAPER in your back pocket.
Parents and Guardians - please the contactable and available to rescue your charge should the need arise.
Tuesday 3rd May Crystal Palace Crits
Start of the much anticipated Palace series - read all about them on Palace Link . It is important for Juniors and Seniors to note that entry in advance is strongly advised - however if the race is full turn up at sign on promptly at 6 pm, be nice and help that nice Mr Joss Buckley, you MAY get a place.
Youths are excused pre entering - turn up on evening with some money.
Wednesday Evening Dulwich Chain Gang.
Don’t do these if you have raced the previous evening - otherwise this fast and fun training ride carries on all summer albeit with fewer riders.
Saturday 7th May - Harry Must Time Trials at Bletchingly
For the first time in ages the start of the series is being held on a Saturday - in fact every Saturday in May before transferring back to a Thursday evening. The course is a 10 mile trawl around the Kent/Surry borders and is according to organiser Serge ‘ a bit hilly’
Typically we’ll be leading the Saturday ride down to Bletchingly aiming to arrive in time for you to complete the circuit.
Sunday 22 May - U23 Senior and Junior Road Race
This is a very rare beast indeed- a proper on the road race for Espoires and Juniors - read the details and mark it in your diary - I have asked the organiser to clarify entry requirements, I hope that Joe, Will and Pat will enter this one.
