Why not next year ... ? Though the blue train should be able to to it in a day and a half esp. if Lord Nic of Cheetham works on the itinerary.

Is that from the L'Equipe book? I noticed they recently published another one about the Paris-Roubaix, but it was too heavy to carry back from france with all my other luggage...
Whichof those two photos is more representative of the DP ascent?

You're right Ric it's from the Equipe book Mythic Cols which is superb.
I'm glad to say i didn't see anyone get off and walk up the Col but to be fair only a few did the col from the harder Martigny side, and I wasn't one of them!
