Is anyone thinking of doing the 3 peaks this year? When do entries open?

tell me more. is this something only for the serious cyclocrossers? do you have to have a racing history to get a place? my cross bike has disc brakes - is that allowed? are there feed/ water stations a la sportive or do you just look after yourself. Any more useful snippets of info welcome.

Yes. No. Yes. No.
It's hard to put into words how grinding painful this can be. It's also likely to be massively oversubscribed so i'm not holding out too much hope of getting a place. All that said, it was my first ever cross race so you might want to give it a punt. After that i vowed i would never do it again.

Not wanting to disagree with my husband but I'm fairly sure that disc brakes are not allowed.

Not wanting to agree with your husband or you, but methinks you right. As for oversubscribed, John Rawnsley told me he managed to give everybody a ride who wanted once the overly-keen early entrants had time to realise their folly and withdraw.

Saw a couple of people riding it with disc brakes last year. There's nothing in the 3 peaks regulations that specifically forbids them.
Also Ian, what the hell's the password for the 3 peaks forum?

Methinks that in your hallucinogenic state you mistook wheels going round very fast for disc brakes. Easy mistake to make and probably my fault for not running up Pen y gent fast enough with that (damn) energy gel.
Need to start my support training earlier this year

As I become the Howard Hughes of the Dulwich Paragon there are whole months when I refuse to leave the house.
Did you get your form printed out? Mr Ball - did you get yours in?
