there's a practice session from 3pm till around 4.30pm which we'll be at alright... That doesn't mean drinking practice. Note that the hop boards are right in the beer tent, so no bunny hopping unless you are expert at these ¬¬¬

I broke a seatpost the last time I bunny hopped those. If the run up is long enough though....

Looks like they're only using the little boards / you said it. small boards, large boozed up crowd.......trying to control a bunny hop wearing funny suit....it'll be a right skid pan. I'm going to opt for old style and even that'll not be easy given how unslick am I. mines a belge blonde (beer that is) ¬¬¬

My tuppence worth - there is NO WAY it will be muddy. Greasy, maybe, but that amount of rain will have no effect on making any proper mud. It's been too dry for too long for couple of showers to create any real mud. I reckon the infield will still be quick

I hope they've cleared the leaves. That will make it interesting on greasy mud. I've been mountian biking over there the ast three weekends and it wasn't the mud that was dicey it was the leaves.

Still lots of leaves.
I just had beans on toast for tea.
Two and a half hours to go.

A great turn out from the club tonight even though it took me all evening to recognise Kevin Ball in his Nun costume! I hope they do this event again.

That was hilarious, including the kiwi dressed as a pumpkin who threatened me at the finish.
Well done Kevin on the win in the vets. Despite the presence of a few costumes everyone was competing as hard as a normal cross race, so that was a top drawer result.
I'd be up for a bit more of that.

I'm definitely up for more of that - really enjoyed my first cross race - and only came off twice - once when someone went down in front of me - and once totally self-inflicted when I missed the saddle after the high board! When I got home, my two-year-old asked me if I got a medal - when I told her Kevin won, she said "that's cos you were far too slow daddy" - oh well!

Missing the saddle, erm, yes I know all about that. Attempting to surf the bike on my stomach was not a winning move. I really enjoyed it tonight and was chuffed with third place. It was brilliant to see such a large women's field too.
