Ha ha! I'll have to laugh when I enter this - I've just seen the women's start list!
Actually, I'm not happy that I haven't been able to ride as I really would've wanted to do this - and Bradford, and Ipswich and Hog Hill and Penshurst... Still can't ride at the mo. I'll see what my leg's like this time next week before I make any rash decisions! Delia might be up for this though.

Don't worry, she'll enter - even if I have to do it myself!

David, are you suggesting you’re willing to go in disguise?
If so I salute your commitment to the club, we may also have something to rival Andy's cyber gimp outing.

I guess Kevin's entering the vets race so it would be great to have more DP riders to support Andy in the seniors. Mark T, Kevin B, David, Gareth etc. Time to get a DP battlebus ready?
And as the reigning SE region womens team champions we really should be putting a team in that race too.

I might be up for this - what are the rules on bikes for this? (i.e. is it premier - in which case my bike doesn't comply)

Do they have a team prize in the women's race? Does anyone know the answer to this question?
It would be good if we could get a team there, and I hear the atmosphere and crowd support are great when you ride it. At the moment it doesn't look like there's any team of women riders, but there's nothing to stop a local midlands team or some Yorkshire girls russling up something, so we can even have our own mini competition! The competition would probably happen at a lower level than the main race as the top riders don't tend to have team mates.
I'd be interested in forming a team, though we have to be honest about our individual chances to avoid too much disappointment! As long as we keep in mind that it's a good day out, a good experience and the chance to tell the grandkids "I was in the same race with some World class riders and did the race of my life.....etc", you've got nothing to lose.
By the way, Pete B I'm pretty sure it's cross bikes only for the Nationals. And Mel, there are still a few girls on that start list who are at your level (and there could be more). You're cyclo crossing's not crap. You'll be fine!:-)

I've been in touch with BC and re team competition the answer is that they award a team prize in each race, but on the proviso that there are at least 3 teams entered in a race. A team is made up of 3 riders.
And yes, only cross bikes are allowed in the race.

I've caved to the pressure and entered. I'm not feeling on super form and am c**pping my pants about Bradford so god only knows how this post-Christmas, post-new year's eve race will go. Eek. Should be a bit of fun at least.
I'm up for a team entry if it looks viable. Is it like the area team champs where you ride as individuals and the points count from there? By the way Melissa, I wouldn't worry about people watching you ride. I think I bow out of dignity all together when riding cross - if you've seen the horrendous photos from Hog Hill they are proof enough. I look like a right pudding!
